Who We Are

Here is a little insight to the world of 2 Chicks Consignment. I have included past and present chicks below. Each chick has had an important role our world and will always be part of us.

Our goal is to create a pleasant shopping experience that we hope will free up some of your time for other, more important activities.  We are proud Domestic Engineers!  Moms with kids who's main wish is to be home with our children but have a link to the 'real world'.  With over 20 years experience in the clothing and design industry in retail and wholesale we feel we can offer a complete shopping experience! As moms living in Vancouver, BC we felt there should and can be an easier way to shop and consign locally.  Enjoy!

 Maureen Calvert (that's me!)

Who I am: Mom of 2 fabulous boys and wife of one slightly older and bigger 'boy'. We live in Vancouver, BC (born and raised). In the beginning I was determined to become an Interior Designer, went to school and moved on to the working world. Unfortunately I found little joy in lengthy discussions regarding throw pillow fabric and what window coverings were appropriate. My visions of designing fabulous homes were fading. I decided there had to be something more fulfilling out there....can I make a difference to our world? Consignment online came to my attention through Karen, her ideas were unique, in Canada not much was available. We launched 2 Chicks Consignment. We both had small children and babies at that time. As 2 Chicks has evolved I have found many ways to contribute to worthy causes and various charities and let me tell you, THAT is fulfilling.

What I like to do: Ride my scooter. It is cheap on gas, I only need one sandwich to get to the store and back...my scooter is me powered. Wind in my hair, burning muscles ah yes, that's living.

I like going to Hawaii. I know not terribly original but I simply say 'Hawaii' and can feel the sand underfoot.

For some reason everyone feels it is important to share the books and movies they like, this list would be endless and I am not sure which would be my favorite, I guess I do not have one right now. 10 Years ago this would have been easy to answer, now I do not watch many movies and the books I read are on Photo shop and Dreamweaver. I love to learn!

I did just watch Hair last night, I loved it, great fashion if your into that era! Tough times though, makes me happy that my kids are still young, what will there teen years bring?

My Family: 2 Boys (6 and 8), one husband, 1 Malamute, 2 leopard geckos, 14 fish, 16 Pokemon.

My Goals: To make our store the best online shop it can be.

To raise healthy and happy children.

To do my part in keeping our planet healthy.

To have an organized house.

To complete at least one of the goals I have listed before 2010. (it is just a nice round number)

Karen

My friend Karen has taken time away from 2 Chicks to be with her family. Karen is a great friend and maybe one day her family will share her with us again. Karen's energy and enthusiasm is fantastic. She has 2 kids close in age to mine. Karen was the brains behind the name 2 Chicks Consignment, Thanks Karen!

 Erin

Erin was my children's preschool teacher and we just hit it off. I acted her age (23 at the time). Erin was a huge help in keeping me focused and organized, she spent many hours entering data and tagging items. Erin moved on to full time teaching Yay Erin! I often talk to her and bounce ideas off her when it comes to issues under 30. She is helping me understand Face book and My space and other projects on the go. Of course she is also a wonderful customer.

Marianne

I am going to say one thing about Marianne and then I will allow her to fill in the rest. This lady has talent. Read some of the descriptions for the gowns and you will see what I mean. A true lover of consignment and vintage I am honored to have Marianne on the 2 Chicks team.
